LUIS CABRERA HERNÁNDEZ (la Habana, 30 de Mayo de 1956). Pintor, grabador y dibujante. Se inicia en la plástica  a través del humorismo. En 1970 ingresa en la escuela de Artes Plásticas de San Alejandro y más tarde en  la Escuela Nacional de Arte. Entre 1977 y 1982 termina su formación universitaria en el Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba. En 1985 realizó estudios de postgrado en el Instituto Superior para la Gráfica y el Arte del Libro de Leipzig (Alemania). Desde 1993 vive en Madrid. Actualmente es profesor de litografía y xilografía de la Escuela de Grabado y Diseño Gráfico en la Real Casa de la Moneda

Luis Cabrera Hernández was born in Havana on 30 May 1956.
He studied in Havana at the School of Fine Arts of San Alejandro, the National School of Art, and the Higher Institute of Art, where he obtained at Bachelor of Arts in engraving in 1982. In 1986, he studied for a graduate degree at the Higher Institute for Graphics and the Art of the Book in Leipzig, Germany. Since 1978, he has participated in a number of international collective and biennial exhibitions. He is now Professor of Xylography and Lithography at the School of Engraving and Graphic Design at the Spanish Mint.

He has held 11 individual exhibitions, of which we highlight the most recent:

He has obtained prizes and mentions in events such as the Competition Noma, the Biennial One International of Engraving in Sapporo, Japan, the Triennial of Engraving in Fredrikstad, Norway, The Young Print in Cuba, the Maximo Ramos Prize in Spain, and Engraving Prize from the Foundation Deutsche Stifung in Madrid, Spain.
